The first day in Perth.

On day 1 , the first activity was comparing 2 cities - Perth and Singapore
I took a picture of Perth City Skyline and Singapore Skyline.

After that , the next activity was to see the State War Memorial. We went to Kings Park to see the State War Memorial.

Kings Park is host to the State War Memorial, erected in honour of those Australian Men and Women who served in the war. Every year on ANZAC Day - the day Australian and New Zealand troops landed in Gallipoli - there is a dawn service at the Memorial, followed by a march of past and present troops through the streets of Perth. There are thousands of native trees that have been planted next to the roadsides throughout the park. Each tree has a plaque with a name of a service man or woman who lost their lives whilst carrying out duties in the war.

As in our Perth booklet or Perth Workbook , there were questions in there for us to answer.
Some of them were :

1. Estimate the perimeter of the Pool Of Reflection at the State War Memorial
Answer : 61cm

2. Give 1 reason why you think the State War Memorial is incorporated in Kings Park?
Answer : Many visitors visit Kings Park , as the State War Memorial is placed at the entrance of Kings Park , visitors will see the State War Memorial as they walk into the Park and remember the times of the war . They will also remember the sacrifice of the army.

3. Do you think it is a good idea to have the State War Memorial is incorporated in Kings Park ?
Why/Why not ?
Answer : Yes , i think it is a good idea. Kings Park is visited by many people. As people walk in , they can see the State War Memorial and remember all the past and what they had suffered.

These are all the questions. :D

The next activity was at the Aboriginal Arts Gallery

In the Aboriginal Art Gallery , i saw this picture on the wall. I liked this picture alot as the polka dots were nice and the pattern too.

There is a picture , but we cannot take photos of it as for copyright purposes.

Name : Mountain Devel Lizard
Artist : Gloria Peryarre

I like this painting because the artist cleverly makes use of swirling patterns to represent the rough uneven texture of the skin on the lizards back.

After that , it was the end of Day 1. :D
